Being that Audible books have digital rights management enabled, I am quite sure the Audible app only can be used to play Audible books. It has to be linked to an Audible account, although that account does not have to be active, in that any Audible books that have been purchased can be downloaded from their site and played in the future. When one wishes to use a third-party player, such as the Victor Reader Stream to play Audible books, it has to be authorized as an Audible player, using the Audible manager which has been linked to an Audible account. When Audible books are downloaded to a pc, via the Audible manager, its default player is Windows Media. However, iTunes can be used. And when it is, Audible books can be transferred from the pc to an Apple device via iTunes. I think I remember that the Apple device has to have been authorized as an Audible player, as does any other third-party player.

Subject: Four Questions about the Audible App from a Non-Audible Subscriber

Hello Everyone,

I purchase all of my non-NLS audio books from the iTunes Store. Therefore, as far as I am aware, anyway, I do not have an Audible account nor do I have
any intention of creating one.

While I do enjoy using the iOS 9.1 version of iBooks, I would like to be
able to move through my audio titles at the chapter level as well as placing bookmarks throughout the title; at present, as far as I know, this cannot be
done in the iBooks app.

Consequently, I have the following 4 questions for you Audible App veterans:

1.
Is one required to have an Audible subscription/account in order to use the
app?

2.
Does the Audible app automatically have access to the audio books purchased
from the iTunes Store and which are currently synchronized to the iOS
device?

3.
Can one, in fact, move through a title at the chapter level?

4.
Can bookmarks be save throughout the title?

Thank you,

Mark
