Hello Samantha, I can’t make comparisons with Windows as I’ve never used Windows, but I’m a longterm Mac user and normally have no problems with focus in Pages. However, since the latest updates to Pages and the change to El Capitán, there have been all kinds of focus issues. I’m constantly reporting problems to Apple so I hope they’ll fix the worst ones soon. My first suggestion to help matters is to make sure that the mouse ignores the other cursors. Then, you should also try bringing the keyboard focus to the VoiceOver Cursor (VO-Cmd-F4).
