In truth the only real advantage is if you want to avoid iTunes because these drives allow you to transfer files from PC to iPhone, iPad or iPod without having to use iTunes. The iStick I have is completely accessible and easy to use but you will need the app to use it and the app can be found in the app store. By the way, the the transfer is done by means of a copy and paste method. Walter.
