Any of these thumb drives which are also at least double the price of a regular USB stick of the same size, require you to use their app to play any of the content. Just like when you have a music folder in Dropbox, you have to use the Dropbox app (at least here there are other app choices due to the popularity of Dropbox) but the stock music app won't access any content from Dropbox and the same goes for these thumb drives with Lightning connector.
