This only works on the 6S and 6S Plus and if you end up getting into app editing/moving mode you double tap and hold whereas you have to just put your finger on the extreme left edge of the phone and press down hard for a moment.
However, while this worked for me in iOS 9.2 Beta 4, in Beta 5 which now is the public release it seems to bring up the app switcher when I press down, but as soon as I let go it also closes again.
