I just did it successfully. Your finger has to be right on the edge of the
screen. Is it possible that your case is preventing you from getting close
enough to the actual edge?

I too am interested in how this is done. I’ve tried pressing on the left
side of the screen but all that happens is that the nearest app gets
selected and ready to move/erase. I also tried pressing on the right side of
the screen and that opened the nearest selected app. What do i do wrong?
