Hi Paul

The dock refers to the four apps at the bottom of your screen that stay the 
same no matter which page you are on. These are probably something like mail, 
safari phone and music.  Yu mentioned moving your finger up to move the apps 
from page to page. You need to move the apps left or right. Left to go towards 
page one and right to go to higher pages. 

You might find a couple of podcasts I did on moving apps useful. Episode 10 and 
11 discuss moving apps and the basics of folders. You can
