Shai, I just tried doing the single finger triple tap again to pause a DropVox recording after having success with it the other day on my iPhone 6 running iOS 8.3. Strangely, this time the single finger triple tap did not work. It acted just like a single finger double tap, ended the recording, and uploaded the file to Dropbox.
I then started playing around by removing various apps one at a time that were running in the Apps Switcher. This had no effect on making the single finger triple tap work to pause a DropVox recording. Powering off and doing a hard reset also did not make the single finger triple tap pause. I did find a gesture that did make it pause. I placed a single finger in the middle of the screen after starting a DropVox recording and while that single finger rested on the screen, I double tapped with another single finger. I guess you'd call this a split finger double tap. Wonder of wonders, this worked to pause the recording. I've tested this split finger double tap two or three times and it has worked every time. It doesn't seem to matter where the single finger resting on the screen is located while you do the split double tap. The record button did have focus when this worked for me. Please try it and let us know if it works for you. Whenever I attempt to perform this gesture, the recording stops and the file gets uploaded to Dropbox. I am running this app on an iPhone6s with VoiceOver enabled and IOS 9.2.
