Hi!
As I said before, I didn't follow the previous thread and I don't know do you already have some iDevice or not. If you have one than you should consider two more solutions.
1. Buying some kind of BT speaker such as Jambox or SoundBrick could help. As I know, both of them are capable of advancing and skipping tracks via buttons on them so you don't actually need Voice Over. I don't know are they cheaper than the Air Express or similar gadgets but you can use it for other purposes and both have decent sound quality and for what it's worth, they are portable.
2. Buying external BT keyboard is also a good solution. With physical keyboard you can operate playback with no speech output when you learn the shortcuts and there could be the keyboard with dedicated multimedia buttons as we seen on Windows PCs. There's also a bunch of things you can do with the keyboard besides operating the Music Player.
And, if you don't have an iDevice and still considering what to buy there are tones of simple USB MP3 Players with buttons on them which you can use for the things you described and they cost from $5 to $20.

S poštovanjem

Hi!
I didn't follow this whole thread about Apple TV, Air Express etc but I see no reason why to use it just because Voice Over speaks.
If you need to play music over the big speakers, no matter is it wired or wireless connection you simply can start playback and disable Voice Over completely with tripple click Home or just mute the speech with three finger double tap. After you finished with listening just re-enable Voice Over with the same shortcut or if you just muted the speech, double tap again with three fingers.
And about the iPod Shuffle. If you listen to the music on it with no interfering you don't hear Voice Over and you can even advance or skip tracks with no speech feedback. But, it has only 2 gigs of storage and it's not what I'd called the luckiest solution for home listening. It's more than nice to carry around but I'd prefer something with more storage for usage at home. And, it can only be connected via cable, it has no wireless connectivity.
