Hi Susan,

I'm still fairly new to apple music myself, although I'm pretty much
addicted already, so I'll do my best to answer your questions.

1. How does one add tracks from radio stations to Icloud? in other
words, if I “love” a song, can I later download or play it on demand
without an outright purchase?
Answer: Telling apple that you "love" a song just indicates to apple
that you enjoyed it, but it does not have the effect of storing it or
categorizing it in any "collection" of yours. What you can do,
however, is download the song to your device so that it'll be
available for you to listen to offline, although once you no longer
subscribe to apple music, these songs will also no longer work (to be
clear, you can download this music without purchasing it). You can
always listen to any song in the ITunes library by asking siri to play
it, or by searching for it from within apple music. So it does not
need to be "yours" in order to be played on demand, but you do have to
choose to download it if you want to be able to play it if you're not
connected to the internet.
Is there a way to import songs from other apps such as accuradio or
Songza? What about creating smart playlists/radio stations?
Answer: I don't know about how well it plays with other apps, but my
suspicion is that it's fairly independent at the moment. You can
create smart stations, however, by choosing to create a station based
on a song you are listening to. Apple will then play one song after
another, and as you indicate whether or not you like it, or outright
tell it not to play songs "like this" or even this specific song, you
will need to tell it your preferences for that particular station less
and less often.

2. I know Siri can be invoked to play songs, but must they be already
in my collection and/or on my iphone?
answer: No. She can play any song apple music has access to, in your
collection or not.

3. I’m not currently subscribed to Apple music. is there a way to
disable or bypass it in order to purchase and play tracks?
Answer: You can always still purchase music as always from the ITunes
store without subscribing to apple music, but I'm not sure what other
aspects of apple music you'd have access to without being a
subscriber. I know there are a few radio stations you could use,
although I'm fairly certain you couldn't build or customize any for
yourself.

Hope these questions make some sense. Again, any response appreciated
either on or off list. Thanks to all.

I hope that was helpful!
