Hi Nancy, I would, at this point, wait a couple of months as there are rumours that Apple is going to release a second generation Apple Watch and one would suspect that with a new, immature product there will be a fair bit of benefit in waiting for the second generation model especially if it is likely to be announced in the next couple of months.
Apple used to often have a spring product launch years ago and then everything went to a September and October time frame, but now there is talk that Apple is going to release a new, 4 inch iPhone 6 as well as the second generation Apple Watch and if I remember correctly I heard something about March. Just recently, a watch app became available that allows one to get the time presented in vibration patterns. This means that one can silently check the time without disturbing others with VoiceOver. The app is called Timebuz. There is a new app called iReg which allows one to make audio recordings using just the watch. Apple Watch is fully accessible with VoiceOver. Good luck with your decision.
