It’s Talking Goggles you want and not Google Goggles although I wouldn’t be 
surprised if it used the same engine. Talking Goggles is the one that will 
automatically read out what it recognises. It does need light but you’ll see a 
Flash button at the top of the app screen so try toggling it for better results 
if it isn’t doing well. I have had mixed results with packaging but find that 
it usually ends up recognising something (either a logo, picture or some text) 
on one of the sides - enough to tell me what the package, tin or CD is at 
least. It isn’t as good as KNFB Reader, for example, for text recognition but 
keeping it in constant record mode and just holding things underneath it for a 
few seconds is such a nice way to have some feedback that I find this app 
invaluable and definitely has its place. For info I’ve used it on a 5S and a 6S.
