Apple can be stingy with advertising dollars so I understand why publishers redirect people to their websites. Reading the National Review on Apple News was annoying because of this. I like the Lire app because it downloads the full text of articles, even those like the National Review that put forward only a sentence and tell you to fetch the rest on their website. Also when sharing an article by e-mail, Apple only sends a link to the article. Lire sends the full text without graphics or extra information in the e-mail message. Apple News is good for getting articles from pay based sources that have deals with Apple. Otherwise, use Lire for regular free content.
