Kristeen, I checked all the Voice Dream and iOS settings and can confirm that the problem you're having with Voice Dream shutting off when your device goes into locked mode is not from a setting. I could locate nothing that controlled this behavior.
I did a Google search for audio shutting off when going into locked mode and from the responses I perused, this behavior is not normal and was corrected in some cases by: 1. Rebooting the device by holding down the home and power buttons at the same time until restart or, 2. Removing all running apps from the App Switcher and then rebooting the device or, 3. Freeing additional memory on the device. This particular thread seemed to imply that one needs at least 1GB of available space for music to continue playing while the device is locked. I have no idea whether that is right or not. I realize the above fixes are pretty random and aren't exactly on point with your Voice Dream issue since most of them related to the music app. However, I believe they are worth a try. I have the following questions: 1. When playing music on your device, does it also shut off when you lock the screen? 2. Have you tried a hard reboot using the simultaneous pressing of the home and power buttons? 3. How much free memory is on your device? 4. What version of iOS are you running? 5. When did you first notice Voice Dream no longer playing when your device was locked? Had any major events recently occurred on your device such as an upgrade, etc.? Hopefully, one of the suggestions I found above will resolve your issue. If not, you should write Winston Chen, the Voice Dream developer, at [email protected] and get his thoughts on your problem.
