Traci, That's great that you're having success. You are exactly right that practice makes being productive with the Fleksy keyboard much likelier. I'll add that knowing about its quirks and inconsistencies of which it has several also makes using it successfully much more likely.
Everyone please keep posting your issues as this is the way to figure them all out, get them documented, and hopefully post either an answer or a workaround.
