With Bluetooth ear peaces and head phones becoming more and more the thing, 
tying yourself to a phisical cord is going to be a thing of the past.  I 
suppose Bluetooth transmitters with a 3.5 Mm jack would be possible and there 
may already be such animals already out there but in general, I think you can 
take it to the bank that the 3.5 Mm Jack soon will be a thing of the past.
