Will this even show up on the 5s?

Subject: RE: IOS 9.2.1 and iTunes.

Hello Kevin,

Do not worry. Nothing is wrong.

You, like me and hundreds of thousands of others are currently running iOS 9.2.1 Build 13D15.

A couple of days ago, Apple released a new build of iOS 9.2.1 which is Build 13D20. Build 13D20 is not available for over-the-air updates.

This new release is to address the Error 53 problem that some devices were receiving after having been repaired by third-party vendors.

The short of it is, if your phone is working fine, there is no need to update to the latest build as it addresses only one, and one thing only, the error 53 message.

The next time you connect your device to iTunes, in the dialogue box that informs you of the newer update, before choosing the Cancel button, also select the "Do not ask me this again" checkbox.

Relax, all is well.

Mark

Subject: IOS 9.2.1 and iTunes.

Guys,
I have updated my phone to iOS 9.2.1 over Wi-Fi connected to AC. Today, I added some CDs to my iTunes library on my mac mini. I had to connect my iPhone to my Mac mini to transfer these to my iPhone. I wish I did not have to do that.

When I connected my iPhone to my Mac mini, I received a message that there was a new iOS version. I decided not to download it. I hit cancel.

Then, I saw a message saying that there was music on my phone that had not been transferred to my iTunes library. It was recommended that I not update my iPhone software until I transferred this material. I allowed the new CDs to be transferred onto my iPhone. I'm not aware that the music that I have downloaded over the air to my iPhone is not in my iTunes library. While I am unclear about this, what I am really concerned about is why iTunes thinks that I am not updated to the latest version of iPhone software. Looking under software update on my phone, I get the message that my software is up-to-date. Could anyone give me advice as to just what I should do? I can continually choose cancel with respect to the software update thing and simply transfer music from my iTunes library to my iPhone. But I get the sense that this is not quite right.

Since I don't visit this group very often, I would be grateful if people would be kind enough to copy me directly on any responses. My email address is kevj...@gmail.com.

Thanks,
Kevin
