Hi! I didn't follow the previous discussion on this topic so I'll try to answer as clear as I can. When using the native Mail app you always get some options how to download attachments. For instance, I just opened the message with the Excel file with it and when I double tapped it it opened in some kind of preview which I closed by two finger scrubbing. I double tapped and held on the attachment and I got the various options, from copy to MS Excel, iCloud, DropBox, OneDrive, BlindSquare, SA Contacts tooption for saving which opened another menu with the cloud services I use and I can select any of them to save my file. I don't know do you got the same options with attachments but you should find the desired file in some of the file apps you use.
