And one more question if you don't mind? What Idevice are you using? I believe my Iphone 6s plus is supporting bluetooth version 4, and I wonder if older Idevices are only supporting earlier specs of bluetooth?
I just tried the LG 900 navigating with VoiceOver character by character with the Iphone 6s plus, and then the phone using its speaker, and could not detect any difference. So not sure why the problem but it is the same on the ITouch and not so when using the built in speakers. both devices are very responsive when not using BT. Normally I am not a huge fan of BT headphones but when I want to do things without getting wires caught on everything, BT is the answer. -----Original Message----- From: Chip Orange Sent: Tuesday, March 15, 2016 10:18 AM To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: RE: recommendation for bluetooth device which can be an ear-piece or used in both ears for great music sound Hi Marie, Do you notice the same lag on the Iphone if you are using the built-in speaker, or is this definitely caused by the Iphone Bluetooth? If it's caused by the Iphone bluetooth, have you ever tried any other bluetooth headset besides the LG, and if so, did it also have the same lag? (just my curiousity trying to figure out where the problem is). Thanks. I don't think you can get much quality sound without blocking some external noise. I do, however find an unacceptable lag on both my IPhone 6 and my ITouch. But I use a very tiny transmitter from Anker to send the signal from the Stream or the Plextalk with little or no lag and decent sound on books, music or podcasts. I think however that it's virtually impossible to get both a good hi-fi experience, and still allow environmental sound to be heard; so, I think you are stuck with either Aftershokz or to just use one ear when possible (like these allow). I did find an article about a variation of this from LG which is the HBS730 (the ones I am reviewing are the HBS900). The reviewers thought the HBS730 were just the best bluetooth sound *ever*, but they thought the retractable wire management on the HBS900 was great. I believe the HBS730 are also this collar design, but the wires don't retract. It does keep your earbuds readily available, too. The problem I have is the buds are the type that isolate you from outside. You can not push them in quite so far, but then you lose most of the quality. I would really like to find tips that deliver the good sound, but do not block out all outside sounds. If you or anyone knows of anything, it will be most appreciated. I actually did try attaching tips from Bose MIE, but they have a proprietary fit to the earbud which I could not get to stay on the LG. Too bad because they are the best bud tips I have ever used. Unfortunately, the MIE are wired. Thanks! He told us that it was an LG Tone Infinim, and in his opinion he would never go back to a standard ear-piece. This device is shaped like a horse-shoe, and sits on your shoulders, encompassing 300 degrees or so around your neck, with the open portion facing directly forward. Each arm has controls on the top and the sides (lots of actual buttons), and the mike is built into one of the arms. But best of all are the ear-buds which nestle in small nooks at the end of each arm, and are attached with spring-loaded 10 inch long wires. When not in use, you press a button and they automatically retract back into the device, so nothing is in your ear to impeed your hearing. When you get a call (the device will vibrate if you set it up that way, and it will also vibrate if you begin to walk away from your phone), you simply grab an earbud and pull it out and insert into your ear. If you want better sound, or to listen to music, you pull both out. The controls on the right arm are dedicated to controlling audio (fast forward, rewind, pause/play), and the controls on the other are volume/vibrate and interface with Siri so you can give verbal commands. I've waited a couple of months before I said anything here because I wanted to be sure I also thought it was enormously better than a standard ear-piece, and absolutely I think it is. It comes in any number of colors (my wife's opinion is that the silver/gray is the most professional looking), and having it around my neck doesn't bother me at all. I do get a lot of compliments on how it looks, and a lot of requests for demos. A charge lasts about 3 days. I find the audio quality excellent, but admit to not being an expert on the audio quality of all bluetooth devices, so I'm putting a review link below, and an Amazon link to the silver for $90 also. I have to admit my wife and I had each already purchase other bluetooth headsets, and we don't know what we're going to do with them, but we're using this from now on.
