Hi Ann, The Nest thermostat is accessible via the Iphone, but you would at least have to have sighted assistance with setting it up, and if it displays any error messages involving the thermostat not being able to attach to wifi or talk to the Nest mother-ship server, then you can't access this with the Iphone (as the Iphone gets its information and controls the Nest via the main Nest server, not directly).
If you live with a sighted person, it's accessible enough for most daily use, but there are times when you do need sighted assistance. You can also control the Nest with the Amazon Echo, but only in households with a single system; there's no way to specify which Nest you mean if you have more than one.
