Ann,

I echo the thoughts surrounding the Nest thermostat that we have in our home. 
You do need sighted help to set it up, and, if things go wrong, you again need 
this. We’ve had it though 3 months and its not been an issue since installation.

The Nest thermostat 3rd Gen can control heating for central heated systems, air 
con if you have that, and, hot water. So its more than just a basic thermostat.

There are other benefits to going that little further with products such as 
those from Nest et al, in that you are moving more towards a connected home 
experience.
