Hello Jenifer,

It is important to note that you do not need an actual touch-screen in order to
use the Jaws Touch Cursor.

Effectively, the Touch Cursor acts a bit like a linear form of VoiceOver. This
is to say, the cursor will find and, if possible, interact with all of the
elements on the display, including those not accessible to the Jaws or PC
Cursor. Generally speaking, use the Jaws key plus the arrow keys to explore
the display with the Touch Cursor.

I use it, almost exclusively with iTunes whenever the standard command or tab
key navigation does not take me to my desired destination.

Braille functionality notwithstanding, It is, by far and away, my favorite
feature of Jaws, these days.

Mark.

Hi Jen, I have to get to work and maybe Mark will explain more, but here is a
bit about the touch cursor.
The Touch Cursor was first introduced in 2014 with the release of Jaws 15. You
invoke the touch cursor with Shift+PC cursor. After that if you press the PC
cursor button (Numpad+) Jaws will say "Touch cursor, double tap to activate the
PC cursor".

You can read more here:

http://doccenter.freedomscientific.com/doccenter/archives/trainingdocs/2014-07-24_windows8-easi/03_AppsWithJAWS15.htm

This article talks about Jaws 15, but all that is said about the touch cursor
is the same in Jaws 17 and it gives you an overview. It is a good idea to learn
about this and all the other features of Jaws that are new because I think a
lot of fairly long-term Jaws users know what they know from way back and often
don't even take advantage of the new features. I have run into this before
where like you somebody didn't even know about a fairly major and useful
feature several years after it was first released.
I always find it useful to keep up with what is new in each version by
listening to Jonathan Mosen's FS Cast. Each year in the fall when a new Jaws
version is released he does a series of Podcasts which introduce the new
features and give an overview.

Having said all this, I actually don't use the touch cursor much in iTunes,
I'll actually have to give it a try myself tonight, but so far I can usually
get to where I want to be and do what I want to do using F6 and the tab key. I
have purchased 2 seasons of Star Trek Voyager and I'll take a look tonight and
then if you like we can chat some more, feel free to take it off-list since
it's not totally iOS related at this point, email me at [email protected].

Regards,
Sieghard

Thanks Mark.
Sorry but new to win 10... what's the touch cursor? Forgive my ignorance.
