What I really mean is this: my internet connection is only wired. I don’t use wireless. I thought to use my old iPhone 4S as an iPad. However, someone told me that as I don’t use wireless connection I can’t listen to the radio, or ask Siri, etc. Is this true? Do I have any alternative to use wifi at home if I don’t connect wireless? Rena

A WiFi network is typically produced by your home router or wireless modem from your internet provider or you can of course connect to all sorts of public WiFi networks such as at Starbuck coffee shops, many hotels, libraries etc. Theoretically your phone can be in airplane mode with just WiFi turned on for a WiFi connection to work. This is typically how you would connect to an in-flight WiFi during a flight if it is offered by the airline.
