Understood about elevation. We are at 730 feet above sea level. and, actually, it reads .8 inches low, not high. So sometimes we have 28.9 inches instead of the National Weather Service report of 29.7, for example. So I just ignore the report.

Hi Ann,

To what do you compare the air pressure reading of your Netatmo in order to say it's too high?
I just checked mine and it currently reads 1,023 millibars.
when I open the Weather Office app which gives me the current conditions from our official Environment Canada weather station which is located at the airport (maybe 5 Km away as the crow flies) it gives me 102.2 KPA (kilo pascals) which would be 1,022 Millibars, so only a 1 Millibar or 0.1 KPA discrepancy. I have looked at this from time to time and rarely find that there is much more than a couple of Millibars of a difference. Of course one has to keep in mind the elevation where you are and the elevation of the official weather station if that is what you are comparing it to. Air Pressure changes with elevation which is how barometric altimeters work, you calibrate them by going to a location with a precise known altitude like an airport and set them, then as you do activities in the mountains you can get precise altitude readings. If you compare to an official weather station which is slightly higher or lower in elevation then I would exist a consistant difference in air pressure reading from Netatmo.

As for humidity, I think that is also effected a lot by local micro changes and also the location where you put your outdoor module. You should not have it exposed to the elements like rain or direct sunlight, but at the same time it should of course not be in a place where maybe there is not much airflow. It's now 9:09 AM and the last update on the official weather station was at 9 AM and it shows 40% humidity and 12 degrees Celsius, my Netatmo shows 49% humidity and 10.2 degrees. It still gets cold at night some nights, this morning at 7 AM it was only 1 degree at the airport, at 8 AM it was already 8 degrees, now at 9 AM it's 12 degrees and we are supposed to get a high of 23 or 24 degrees this afternoon with not a cloud in the sky, not too bad for northern BC in mid May, thanks El Ninio! All in all I think that Netatmo is a good product, well made and it seems accurate enough.

Regards,
Sieghard

On our station, the air pressure is consistently about .8 inches too high.
I don't know about the humidity.
