I'm using Neospeech Kate. I'll switch to another voice I have, probably Neospeech James, and see if the problem persists. If the problem goes away with James. I'll probably uninstall and reinstall Kate, and see if things get better with her.
Two other very odd issue is that, when reading, and with Kate, I get a couple of words, three at the most, repeated. If I'm remembering correctly, this usually only happens at the end of a sentence, and is quite rare in any case. I'm not touching the phone when this happens, just to get the idea I'm rewinding the speech or anything cleared up. I typically read in the kitchen while washing dishes and have the phone sitting on the coffee maker, so that it doesn't have the risk of getting wet. Another issue I'm having is that VDR freezes when flicking, and often just after opening a book. "it's like there's nothing at all on the screen. What happens is that the screen freezes, and nothing shows up on it. I'm not sure why this is happening, but the flicking thing sometimes happens quickly, and sometimes takes a bit longer to happen. And it happens everywhere in the app—in the books list, the folders list, and when going through items to add from Dropbox and BookShare.
