My suggestion is to just attach your iOS device to your iTunes 12.3 computer and see what happens. This is to say, attach your phone and attempt to make a backup. If you do not receive an error message, then you're in business. If you do receive an error message or a dialog box informing you that you must upgrade to the latest version of iTunes in order to complete the intended action, simply cancel the operation; no harm, no fowl, as they say. Or, am I stuck having to upgrade to iTunes 12.4 and having to deal with the accessibility challenges therein? I prefer to do encrypted backups which I understand are not possible with iCloud backups. Hello Keith, While one can use iPhone without ever connecting it to a computer, generally speaking, I would argue that it is better to use iPhone in conjunction with a computer for a host of reasons not the least of which being that a computer allows one to preserve apps that may no longer be offered in the App Store. Again, it's a matter of opinion. One thing I can definitely tell you, however, is that for the best iTunes experience, one needs a Macintosh computer.
