OK There! Sieghard (Oh! Thee of little faith!) I can go one better!

When I first got my original Roomba, Silver, many moons ago, For sound, all
it did was a sort of low pitched bleep and some trilling fanfares of triumph
when all was done. If something was wrong, it played a tune and then bleeped
one time through (that's an Americanism for you!) eight beeps. Now, we do have
to understand, the Roomba range are made by IRobot, famous, not for vacuum
cleaners, but assault robots in the theatre of war. They go in and blow things
up! This, then, is the mind-set of the programmers. Well, I was reading through
the manual of my new and greatest Love of my life, when upon perusing how many
beeps meant which indication, such as, "my brushes need cleaning" "my battery
is low" etc, when, to my great concerne, I read "If your Roomba bleeps 9 times,
Please phone IRobot immediately! Do not go through your retailer, but contact
us directly!"

I have always treated my Roombas with respect! As you might imagine.

    Sandy.
