Hi Mary, There is a setting on the phone as well as in iTunes on the Mac or PC where you can tell it to automatically download various purchases and you can check things like music, apps, books, movies etc. In the iTunes for Windows version it is in Preferences > Store. If you check to automatically download music for purchases made on other devices then if you buy a song on your phone it will automatically download in iTunes. Also, you should be able to download any purchases by going to the Store menu and select "Check for available downloads". Again this is in Windows, but I'm sure iTunes on the Mac has a similar menu with such an option.

However, I do have a bunch of stuff that I purchased on the iTunes Store on my phone. I want to make sure that these purchases are downloaded to the Mac. You used to be able to transfer purchases from your iPhone to your mac using iTunes on the Mac. But recently, I have read that this is not possible anymore. Can someone confirm or deny? I really need to get some of this stuff off of my iPhone, because it is running out of space. Music is the single largest thing taking up space on the phone. I would like to have access to the songs in the cloud, with the permanent back up on the Mac, since they are purchases and not just Apple Music items. In other words, I have no DRM and I want to keep it that way. Anyway, if someone can help out here with this question, I will be grateful.
