Tom, maybe I am not getting your meaning, but how about using handwriting.
You can write the first letter and all apps starting with that letter will
show in a list. Not a Braille solution.

Hi Jonathan,

Great blog post! As an avid user of Braille with IOS, I certainly agree with
your points regarding Braille support. I'd love to have some sort of
pronunciation dictionary. And amen to the idea of full access to the file
system on any IOS device; although I certainly applaud Apple's efforts to
keep its OS secure, I truly despise having to use iTunes to move stuff to
and from my iPhone and would absolutely rejoice if iTunes died a horrible
and painful DEATH!

Now, having said all that, I'd like to float a crazy idea to extend keyboard
support. Keep the derisive laughter, groans and flames to a minimum, please.
Like I said, this one may well be considered off the wall. Here goes.
Sighted people have the ability to glance at a screen full of icons, zero in
on the one they want and simply tap it. So, if VO is running and an external
keyboard is in use, why not enable first letter navigation on any home
screen or within a folder much like one has that capability on a PC? Ditto
for long lists of titles or artists in Apple Music, where, incidentally, I
can't find a table index. Further, if VO is running and an external
keyboard is in use, I'd like to see support for quick navigation keys in
Safari or any place where I'm viewing HTML content. Let me type h for
heading, t for table, e for edit box and so on and so on. While the rotor is
certainly handy, having to use it to first select an element type (link,
heading, form element, et cetera), then use the rotor to find the desired
element is cumbersome. Does that functionality exist with the current
implementation of Quick Nav? If so, great.

Like someone else mentioned, I'd also like to see a way to search for text
in lengthy articles or documents.
