In short--yes! Unlike other apps, the KNFB Reader will recognize text whetehr it is upside down, sideways or right side up. I've used it to recognize the text in an image based PDF file of my apartment lease, and it worked nearly flawlessly. I say nearly because it was not able to recognize the handwritten text in the document, but I don't know of any OCR package that can recgonize handwriting yet. Besides all that, if it absolutely does not work for you, you can always get a refund, provided you keep your receipt from Apple. It is extremely easy to use though. You can find a quick start guyde and user guide within the app, and there have also been plenty of podcasts done on it from AppleVis and other sites. In addition, this is one of the lowest prices I've seen for the KNFB Reader, get it while it is on sale. It won't likely go on sale again until around Christmas.
