Hi Terry,
I think there is some kind of bug having to do with Bluetooth, possibly 
voiceover, and these devices. My iPad does the same thing, but so does my 
iPhone on occasion. It happens on Bluetooth or airplay. Sometimes turn 
voiceover off and back on solves it. Sometimes a reboot helps. It's definitely 
something strange with the audio and I have no clue what. But it is not just 
your iPad.
