Hi folks: Here's a summary of today's Apple press event: * New devices: iPhone 5, iTouch 5, iPod Nano 7th generation, earPod. * Universal: new smaller connector called "lightning". A new earphone accessory called "earPod" will ship with newer devices or will be available for purchase. * iPhone 5: 4-inch screen (1176X640), 4G LTE connectivity, 2X faster CPU (quad-core), longer battery life, same back-facing camera specs as 4S but different lense cover, enhanced front camera, 18% thinner than 4S and 20% lighter. Price is the same as 4S and pre-order begins on the 14th. * iPod Touch 5: 5 MP rear camera, faster CPU, 16 GB storage option, Siri integrated and comes in multiple colors. Will be available in October. * iPhone 3GS 8 GB is discontinued; however, iOS 6 will run on it. Also, 32 GB 4S is discontinued. * redesigned App Store and iTunes Store with folder-like album art functionality in iTunes Store and Facebook integration in App Store. * iOS 6.0: compatible with iPhone 3GS/4/4S/5, iPod Touch 4/5, iPad 2/3.
