Well folks, I got the problem solved but it wasn't white as straight forward as just deleting the messages.
Here's what I had to do: – Of course I open the Messages app – Then, using the search facility, I did a search on the names of one of my nieces that was in that original group message – Then, finding the entry with all those folks in it, I selected it – Did the swipe down to more where I found a remove button Wallah, that did the trick! - Bill and Leader Dog Holland -- The following information is important for all members of the V iPhone list.
