When I flick down to a message and VO reads say the first couple lines, I use
the two finger flick up and it reads the body of the message. Then, I touch
with two fingers to pause it if I get interrupted, then touch with two fingers
again and reading continues, just like always.
Now, if you have an iPad, apparently the reading is not so easy as Mary has
mentioned.
But if you start reading with the two finger flick down, the two finger touch
pauses like always.

Richard

I agree with you about the focusing need a little jumpy here. I'm not sure
what you mean by what happens if a message is more than a paragraph? It reads
straight through. At least here. The only time I have issues with headers being
read is on the iPad, which I have talked about under a different thread. One
focus difference I have noticed, and this is consistent, if you have a message
open and you hit delete, the next message opens and after you hear the subject
line, if you decide you want to delete it, focus is no longer on the delete
button. You have to find it again and double tap it. That's a little bit
annoying, especially on the iPad where, at least for me, the delete button is
harder to find.

This new messages thing in the rotor is going to take some time to get used to.
What happens if there's multiple paragraphs in a message? Also, VO focus seems
to be quite jumpy in mail. Maybe I'm doing something wrong? Does anyone know if
there's a way to skip the header information in a message and go straight to
the message text? I know the messages rotor item makes VO start reading the
message text from the beginning, at least that's how it's been so far, but if I
get interrupted while reading, then lose my place, I want a way to get back to
it quickly, and not have to start reading from the beginning. Lol maybe I'm
just being cranky and not giving the new mail view enough of a chance, but it's
such a departure from the way it was previously. Also, I had the shock of my
life when all my folders showed up on the screen. I figured out that I have to
collaps mailboxes now.

Thanks,
Ari
