You can turn off lock screen notifications in Settings > Notifications and this
is also where you turn on/off the sound you hear when an email comes in.
I am not sure what this "Other" mailbox is all about, I don't have it.
However, you should not set up Outlook as an IMAP account. When you set it up
in the native mail app on the iPhone you should use "Outlook.com" as the
account type which then sets it up using the Exchange Active Sync protocol. If
you use Office 2013 or 2016 on your laptop which means you are using the
Outlook 2013 or 2016 application or if you use the native Mail app in Windows
10 you should only have to enter your email address and the password and
Outlook will then set up the account as an Exchange Active sync account, do not
set up manually as an IMAP account.
Having said this I occasionally get a sync issue as well, maybe once or twice a
year and if all else fails I also have in the past simply deleted my account
from the iPhone and then set it up again.

Sieghard

Subject: Questions concerning email, and the Outlook app

Hello everyone,

I started having problems with the mail app again, regarding my Outlook
account. This is the second time this has happened. I ended up having to delete
my account, and then add it again.

Some mail that I had deleted from my laptop, didn't delete from my phone. I
couldn't get them to go away for anything, and I tried different suggestions
people gave me.

Anyway, it happened again this morning, and I just got fed up. My account was
senked and was an Imap account. This only started happening after the latest
Iphone update.

So I deleted my account within mail, and I installed the Outlook app. I like it
so far. It seems pretty easy to use.

However, I have 2 questions about it,.

First of all, why aren't all my messages in the Inbox folder?

Why are they in this folder called, Other?

And why can't I move them in to the inbox folder?

It acts as though I can. But it doesn't do it.

Now for my last question.

I want to be notified by sound when I get new messages.

However, I don't want it to read a bit of the message then.

Is there a way to still get the audible sound, but not hear anything
about the message?

Thank you for taking the time to read this. Any help would be very much
appreciated.

Terri
