Hi Jed, You may also want to ask yourself if something like an Otterbox Defender (if that is the case you refer to) is really necessary. It's a bulky case which offers a lot of protection and I can see where it may be a good idea for people who work in construction, on a farm etc., but for the occasional drop and so on it is in my opinion overkill. As for any water resistancy this is no longer a concern since the iPhone 7 itself is for all intents and purposes waterproof against everything other than a prolonged submersion. I personally have just a fairly basic case, I chose a case from Evutec which is tough, it has a rand that sticks up a bit over the edge but it is not too bulky.
