Dear listers I recently bought a male to female extension cable into which I can plug my EarPods and the other end of which I plug into my Mac Mini. However it could equally have been my iPhone. Basically I wanted to be able to use my EarPods on my Mac but have an extra bit of length on the cable.
However, whilst the Amazon listing definitely said it would work with iPhone EarPods and send the remote control signals through (using the TRRS protocol which is what the remote control uses) when I plugged it in the remote control stopped working. It appears to have the plastic band on the jack which EarPods have but as I say it doesn’t work. Has anyone been successful in finding an extension cable that still allows the remote control to work?
