Robin,
After scouring Amazon I finally turned to a Google search and wouldn't you know, located the following item at Amazon: Black headset earphone Headphone Adapter with Remote & Mic Extension Cable for apple iphone 6 6plug 4 4s 5 5s 5c Here's its product description at Amazon: Product Description Headphone Adapter with Remote & Mic Extension Cable for apple iphone 4 4s 5 5s 5c 3gs Brand new and high quality color:Black Length:1.1m 3.5mm 4 pole Male to 4 pole Female support the mic, volume control,play/Pause,change the song(the remote control is the the same as the apple headphone) package include: 1*adapter cord(there is no the headphone including) Compatibility Information iphone:(only can work with the iphone ipod ipad,it can not work with Android phones) iphone 6 6plug 5 5c,5s,iphone 4 4s,iphone 3gs ipad:ipad 1st,ipad 2nd,ipad 3rd,ipad 4th,ipad mini ipod:ipod shuffle 3rd,4th,5th,ipod nano 4th,5th,6th,7th,ipod classic, ipod touch And here's its link at Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/headset-earphone-Headphone-Adapter-Extension/dp/B00JQ3OBZM The price is listed as Sale: $9.90. I believe this will do what you want but I'll caution you that one of the answers to customer questions seemed to indicate that since this extension cable has its own volume and remote buttons and its own microphone, those corresponding buttons on your Apple earpods don't work when connected to this extension cable. I really don't understand why this would be but I thought you should know. I have looked at the picture on Amazon and the plug for this cable does appear to have the three rings on it, two for the stereo channels and one for the remote buttons. If you try this, let us know if it works. None of the other audio extension cables I checked on Amazon seemed to connect the remote button functions of the Apple earpods. Good luck. However it could equally have been my iPhone. Basically I wanted to be able to use my EarPods on my Mac but have an extra bit of length on the cable. However, whilst the Amazon listing definitely said it would work with iPhone EarPods and send the remote control signals through (using the TRRS protocol which is what the remote control uses) when I plugged it in the remote control stopped working. It appears to have the plastic band on the jack which EarPods have but as I say it doesn’t work. Has anyone been successful in finding an extension cable that still allows the remote control to work?
