Hello to everybody who has tried to help me.

I really appreciate it. It turns out that my friends number is not blocked at
all, on either end. Mine nor his.

I did add him as a contact, and then checked to see if he was blocked. The
number was not blocked.

I realized after I said that I was going to try to text him on my iPad, that I
couldn't. He does not have an iPhone. So I put a messaging app on my phone, and
I tried to text him that way. It still didn't work.
So did I even called AT&T, knowing they probably couldn't help me. The lady
told me that if he gets an error message when he tries to send me a message,
that the problem is most likely on his end. I asked him if he could text other
people, or receive messages. But he didn't say rather he good or not. We have
been emailing back-and-forth. I did check to see if SMS was on, and it was. So
that's not the issue either. So I am going to think that the problem is on his
end. But I really don't know. It's rather strange! I can text anyone else.
Thank you again for all the help. I really appreciate it. If I ever do some of
this is you, I will let you all know what we found out.

Terri,

Does the other party have an iPhone? I assume they do since you said you might
want to try and text them from your iPad and unless you use an app you can only
text from an iPad if it is an iMessage.
If so, are your messages going as iMessages and do they have iMessage enabled?
Lastly, whether they have an iPhone or not, you may want to check your Messages
settings to see if you have turned on the "Sent as SMS if iMessage is
unavailable" feature.

Subject: texting issue

Hello everyone,

I have a question. I don't know if any of you will be able to help me, or not.
But I'm hoping so.

A while back, I removed someone from my contacts. I don't ever think I
blocked their number. But in all honesty, I can't remember.

I did look at my blocked numbers, and the number wasn't in there. But I
thought if I had blocked them and deleted their contact, that they
wouldn't be blocked anymore?

Well I tried texting them yesterday. I emailed them, because I didn't
hear back from them. They told me they never received a text. So I tried
again, and they didn't get it.

So then I sent them my number, and they can't seem to text me. I believe
they use Straighttalk while I use AT and T. Not that this should matter,
I wouldn't think.

They say they don't have me blocked either. I don't get an alert or
anything that my messages don't go through. They act as though they do.

What could be going on?

Even though I don't like to use my Ipad for texting, I might try this
and see if there is a difference. But any thoughts, or advice would be
much appreciated.

Thank you!

Terri
