Hi Tom, A few, and I really mean a few, albums come with a PDF booklet when you buy them through iTunes Store. They have some of what you are talking about. I'm not sure they have everything the old liner notes used to have, or if liner notes are just not as complete as they used to be. The Book of Mormon CD has a booklet. Many of the songs are shown as "explicit," which is true. Holly Happy Days, a Christmas album by the Indigo Girls came with a digital booklet. They are accessible and will download with the album, but you may have to open then in iBooks to get them to show up where you can read them.

Way, way back when, when I used to buy vinyl albums and CD's, I used to sit down with an Optacon and read the liner notes that came with the album or CD, which was cool because I could look at such things as the personnel on the various tracks and even what kind of musical gear was used, et cetera.
