If a device relies on IFT TT, it should work with Alexa as well as it works with Google home. If you have an Alexa enabled device, you don't need to purchase a Google home. I don't know anything about any Apple HomeKit enabled sprinkler controllers, since that isn't something I need and haven't looked into. Just remember that Google home is very new on the market, so if you already have something such as an echo or an Apple device, you should check into it and not just go buy a device you may not need for this purpose.
