Also, I used to use TeamTalk for this (it's now available as a Windows program 
and an IOS app), and it worked quite similarly, except it had no limitation I 
can recall of the number of participants.  It had a neat feature where it 
simulated a 3d placement (using audio) of each voice in the conversation, to 
give you a synthetic location to identify with each voice.

Try appear.in. You can do a search for appear.in on the app store and 
use the app or go to appear.in on your computer. this will give you the 
ability to create a conference room on the fly that supports up to eight 
people. This supports audio or video conferencing. You can create a room 
on the fly with a pass word or create an account and reserve the same 
room name every time you want to connect. It works really well.
