Hi,
Easier to type with, easier to find icons, and when you have, and
want a small phone, like the 5S, the iPad is just generally
bigger. The mini, though, if you want an iPad in land scape
orientation, might be too small. I have a small non-apple
tablet, and am struggling in land scape with it.

hi,
I wonder what a besel is? Is it the metal rem around the screen?
I too
have thought about getting an iPad but, never could justify the
cost
sincethe larger screen size and view would be of no intrest to a
totaly
blind person. pluss the iPhone 6+ is fairly large now. I
wonder those
that have it is it the superior sound quality you all buy it
for?

I have a very hard time believing that Apple will offer a 10.5
and 9.7 inch
iPad, what would be the differentiator between two devices with
just over a
three quarter of an inch larger screen?
If they do the 9.7 inch model will be around as a less expensive
option with
slightly older technology for a year or two and then it will go
away. I
could, however, see them making a 10.5 inch screen iPad with a
similar form
factor and less screen besel and then to offer a smaller version
iPad be it
7.9 as the Mini is now or maybe 8.2 or 8.5 inches, once again,
smaller besel
sizes could probably accommodate an 8.5 inch screen in a very
similar size
device to what the iPad Mini is now.
Regards,
Sieghard

I've seen that rumor. The other rumor is that the 10.5 inch iPad
will have
the same form factor as the 9.7, except that it will have almost
no besel,
thus enabling them to fit the larger screen into the same size
case so to
speak. I guess we'll all just wait and see. It would be too bad
if the mini
were to go away. Maybe they figure the iPhone 7+ size does the
job, except
it's way more expensive than the mini.

rumor is there will be no iPad mini refresh. Instead, they will

Well, yes, you can definitely run iPhone apps on an iPad mini.
Do you
have some sight? I'm asking because if you don't, I don't see
picture in
picture being valuable for you. As for the split screen,
according to the
reviews I have seen, it's not all that great on the mini, due to
the fact
that the mini is already rather small. Of course those were
sighted folks
writing those reviews. I have a mini, it's an older one. And I
never use
split screen. I see no value in it for me. Hopefully others
who do use it
will have something different to say. The other caution flag I
would put
up about the iPad mini for is that it is running a chip which is
two
years old. No big deal? Not now. But I wonder about the
longevity of the
device, since it's Chip is that old. Rumor is, new iPads are
coming out
next spring, but the question is, will the mini get a refresh?

i'm having trouble justifying the purchase of an iPad Mini 4.
I'm very
intrigued by the iPad-specific features, such as having two apps
on the
screen at a time with the split screen feature, and the picture
in
picture feature. I just love the idea of the keyboard case,
too.
Does every app support the split screen feature, where you can
have two
apps running side by side? How will I know if an app does or
doesn't
support this feature? Also, can I use iPhone apps on an iPad
Mini? I
know there are iPad-specific apps out there, but will iPhone
ones run on
it, too?
I picked the iPad Mini over the iPad Air 2 because I've had a
play a few
times with my mom's iPad, and I found it a bit confusing. I got
lost on
the screen a lot, and had a bit of a hard time finding iCons. I
think a
Mini would be a bit easier to get used to, not to mention a bit
more
portable.
Thanks,
Ari
