I was indeed looking at the 16 GB. And, although I can't speak
for what was available on Friday, all the models are now showing
the 2 to 3 weeks.

Apple-effect, as I have come to think of it.
By the way, I decided not to wait at the A T & T wireless store.

receptionist reminded me that I can check to see if I am
eligible for an
upgrade by doing the following from my iPhone:
1.
Open the Phone App.
2.
Switch to the Dial Pad.
3.
Dial *639#
4.
Tap the Call button. By the way, 6 3 9 spells the word NEW.
You will
receive a text message stating your eligibility status.
