On Android, you could switch the layout of the Google Keyboard to a PC layout, so you got the number keys across the top. I did this on my Nexus tablet. I assume this still works, but I haven't gotten around to doing it on my S7. I plan to get this keyboard on my iPhones. Once I do, I'll play around and post my results. Using the same virtual keyboard across my devices will be nice. One less thing to get used to when I switch between devices!

Thanks for the Feedback, Rich.

Curious, what happens if you turn the phone to landscape orientation? Assuming
that orientation lock is off, of course. Sometimes, various keyboards will
offer more typing options in landscape mode.

Mary,
I just installed it after reading the article I sent a little while ago.
On the iPhone 5s, there is no number line, you have to toggle numbers the same
way. But, there is a period just to the right of the space bar.
Also, if you have touch typing on, touching and releasing the return key enters
it, while on the native iOS keyboard you have to double tap.
Plus it does have the activate google search right there.
Interesting.

Mark, I have no idea. I have m braille installed. I didn't have to sign
anything or do anything. Of course Google is always after data. So it wouldn't
surprise me. But they're going to get what they get anyway.

Mary,

As always, my greatest concern about using third-party keyboards is the fact
that everything one enters can be accessed by the developer. I believe there
is a ULA that one must agree to when installing a third-party keyboard, is
there not?

That is apparently the name of the Google keyboard for iOS. I wonder if anyone
has tried it and whether it works with voiceover. For me, the most interesting
thing about it is that it seemingly includes a number row, without having to
switch like you do with the standard Apple keyboard. That would be nice.
