Are you using the current version of the Flexy keyboard or the old one?
On the version you use, is there a period and the @ sign on the keyboard for
ease of entering email addresses?

I downloaded Gboard to my iPhone 7 running the latest iOS 10.2 and found no
way to customize it to add a number row. I believe you're right that the
number row feature only exists in the Android version. I had no luck when
Googling Gboard iOS and number row. All the hits I found talked about that
feature on the Android version.
I couldn't find any great features that Gboard offered so I removed it. I
never figured out how to use its glide typing feature or either it doesn't
work with Voiceover. I couldn't tell how you were supposed to select the key
you glided to in order to enter it that was any different than how it works
with the iOS standard keyboard. I find the Fleksy keyboard much faster for
input but then I've been using it for quite a while.

I think, from the research I've done, the number row is only going to be
available on Android.
There is nothing about a number row in the iOS Gboard settings.

a Note 7 but, as I am not a pyromaniac... (smile).
Anyway, the default keyboard on my S 6 has a number row and it truly is
convenient. I've never checked but I think the default keyboard on the S
6 is the Samsung keyboard. So, perhaps we should look for a Samsung
third-party keyboard, for iOS, instead of the Google keyboard.
For many, many years, now, I and others have been lobbying for a number
row to be added to the native iOS keyboard.

iPhone, and I have been waiting to get the update to the Google keyboard,

Also, if you have touch typing on, touching and releasing the return key

That is apparently the name of the Google keyboard for iOS. I wonder if
anyone has tried it and whether it works with voiceover. For me, the most
interesting thing about it is that it seemingly includes a number row,
