My office sets up the Personal HotSpot through our carrier. Then, you can give it a password or use the one it offers, which reads fine with VoiceOver. It then uses your phone as a wifi hotspot. That is a very secure way to use your computer when at a hotel, restaurant, etc. You have to have that set up through your carrier. I do not know what the charge is for that.
