I use Word for iOS, but that's mainly because I want to be able to work on documents both on my phone and my laptop. Also, if you create a document on the phone, you do have the option of saving it on the phone after which you can send it to the cloud. I suppose this is for occasions when you might not have a data connection.
Word for iOS is surprisingly feature-rich, though I can't speak to how easy all these features are to use with VO. But for basic document creation, I find Word quite usable on the phone.
