Gordon, completely not understanding, sorry. I only see one volume right below
the heading. I assume this is for the ringer for the phone. I originally had
that set to 100 percent and below that ringer and alerts will not be changed
with volume buttons on off. I have now turned that back on. How do I make
changes? Thanks.

Phone ringer and alarm volume are together. The media volume and notifications
volume are together. The best thing to do is to go over to settings and sounds
and set your ringer and alarm volume using the slider and unchecking that box
right next to the slider to only control media volume using the buttons. This
way your ringer and alarm volume will stay where you leave it no matter how
often you change the media volume. You can use the rotor to change the voice
over speech volume where you can have the media volume higher and the voice
over lower if you want. It takes a while to find the right configuration for
your personal use, but you'll get there. It took me about a week before I got
it right and used to it.
