hi, I am using an iPhone 6. when the app opens it is already scanning. so have you're back facing camera towards where you think your barcode might be. perhaps, begin with something easy where you know the barcode is. once it finds the barcode, a new page will open with choices to search with Amazon or Google. generally, I search with Google and get good results!
